Hunger Stops Here
Hi Family & Friends!
With the Holidays around the corner (+ the midst of a pandemic), it's estimated that 54 million Americans' didn't have enough food to eat on a regular basis. (According to Non Profit - Feed America)
The Holidays' are already a difficult time for families in marginalized communities & this has only been exacerbated by the recent economic & public health crisis.
Prior to the pandemic, it was reported that black households were twice as likely to live in a food insecure household & latinos' were 2.5x as likely.
Food Insecurity:
The state of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food:
In Marin 20%, of our population is at risk for food insecurity, and when broken down by various demographic variables (age, race, income, zip code), it becomes apparent that certain populations suffered more from food insecurity than others; this became a high priority.
With the COVID-19 crisis’ impact on business and the economy, we need to find ways to support more kids, families, and individuals who are becoming food insecure.
With every dollar, the Marin-SF Food Bank can provide two healthy meals to struggling folks.
If you have the means to, please consider making a contribution to combat hunger & help families/individuals who are in great need.
I'm hoping collectively we can raise $2,000 from now-Thanksgiving, I will be contributing an additional dollar for each mile I run from now until then.
Food For All
Your donation to the Food Bank has the power to transform lives: Food makes it possible for kids to learn more in school, for adults to focus at work, and for seniors to stay healthy and active. Thank you for giving generously as you can.
