THANK YOU TO OUR FUNDSHARING TEAMS

We're very grateful for our Polar Bear Plunge Fundsharing teams. The option to form a Fundsharing team is available to nonprofit partners who would like to participate in the plunge, while also raising funds for their own organization. All Fundsharing teams must be a registered 501(c)(3) or a faith group with a yearly income that does not surpasses $4 million.

CCAN and the team will split the funds raised 50-50. To participate as a Fundsharing team we ask the team to raise a minimum of $1,000, but that’s not hard and we encourage you to set your sights high, especially since you can have unlimited team members. The partner nonprofit handles recruiting for their team and selecting a captain to coordinate with us; we’ll handle all the plunger support materials, event promotion, planning, and day-of logistics. All Fundsharing teams sign an agreement and must be approved and have values that align with CCAN.

For more information on forming a Fundsharing team, please contact Arianna Huff at [email protected].

2025 FUNDSHARING TEAMS

Founded in 1997, Appalachian Voices brings people together to protect the land, air and water of Central and Southern Appalachia and advance a just transition to a generative and equitable clean energy economy. To achieve this, they work to end harmful fossil fuel practices such as mountaintop removal coal mining and construction of unnecessary fracked-gas pipelines. They also strive to shift to clean, 21st-century energy sources including energy efficiency, solar and wind power, and stand up to monopoly utility practices that put profits over people. Their ultimate goal is to establish economic solutions that create community wealth and sustain Appalachia’s mountains, forests and waters. View their team page here.

Community Forklift is the DC-area’s nonprofit reuse center for home improvement supplies. We collect donations of new and gently used building materials and home essentials and make them available to the community at low cost. They also distribute free materials to nonprofits and neighbors in need, create good green jobs, and educate the public about reuse. They're excited to Plunge because they are a green "business" that cares about the state of our environment deeply and fight the waste daily. View their team page here.

Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions (FACS) unites people of faith and like-minded friends to develop local and statewide solutions to the climate crisis. They aim to tackle the climate crisis; advocate for nonpartisan, science-based climate policies; and empower congregations to protect all living things and become champions of change.
